Day Three - Rainy Monday

We set sails – it was done a lot more skillfully than on the first day. However, wind was blowing from the direction we were heading to, so we had to sail against it. Luckily, thanks to crew’s knowledge and experience we managed to get to Gager, a lovely village on the island of Rügen. Upon arrival to the port of Gager some of us decided to go swimming, although both water and air were cold.

Day Two - Sunday

Today, we worked with a CTD and a Nansen-bottle which both are instruments to measure water conditions like conductivity, oxygen-levels and temperature. We also took some samples of the seafloor and found a lot of different shells and some crustaceans.

Day One - Making friends

We, the Germans, arrived at Greifswald harbor at 4 o’ clock. The Polish were already there when we came, and the Lithuanians came shortly after. We brought all the science stuff and our luggage on board and started discovering the boat.
