Day Four - Watching the Baltic Sea from above
05.09.13, 23:59 by Frauke Gehrau (comments: 0)
This day workshops start right after breakfast. In the workshop about Zoo plankton the participants marvel at the diversity of micro organisms they can watch through a binocular microscope. There is a Lego workshop as well and a workshop about scientific research on the field of sustainability.
In the secchie disk workshop the participants try out different colours for measuring the secchie depth first before Lukasz Hoppe from the IOPAN explains the colour of water in a very scientific but comprehensible way.
At 3 o’clock everybody meets in the assembly hall to watch the motion picture “The Baltic Sea from Above”*. The voice-over is only in German but still everybody marvels at the beauty of the German coastline shown in bird’s eye view.
Today the KHS students who prepared dinner thought of something special: toast with salami baked cheese. Of course there is nothing left over…
After dinner the last meeting with everybody in the assembly hall takes place, because tomorrow the first group will leave before breakfast. Everybody get their certificates and a big thank you is spoken to the organizers and scientists and all the hard-working KHS students who helped organizing, preparing food and so on. Then a group photo is taken.
Last but not least the coordinators have organized a party – even with a live band! So the gym turns into a club, the mood is fantastic, everybody (and with that I mean students, teaches, scientists, organizers) dances and it seems that just now all came together as a team. But sadly it is the last night.
