Just after we left Longyearbyen we started to do further research. We were collecting samples of macroplankton. Thanks to good weather conditions we managed to work at 7 stations (200% norm!). In the meantime aerosol measurements were taken with the assistance of the MICROTOPS II.
With enthusiastic feelings we finally reached Andenes - port in Norway, where we met our colleagues from IOPAN: T. Petelski and T. Zielinski. In the frame of our international cooperation we visited ALMAR Observatory (69 16 42N, 16 00 31E) – Arctic Lidar Observatory for Middle Atmosphere Research.
We were luck as the scientists from this station showed us very modern equipment. ALMAR is a modern facility where scientific group from 6 nations are investigating in atmosphere research. Instrumentation of the station making it a full size atmospheric laboratory in the arctic.
After 2 days spent in beautiful Andoyai we started our way back home to Poland...
