WHAT DOES A MARINE SCIENTIST DO?

When the scientists have finished a period of observations or completed an experiment, they describe what they have done and draw conclusions from the outcome. They try to detect and describe patterns and formulate hypotheses (possible explanations) of patterns, using sentences which start with: ‘This is what it looks like....’; ‘This is what happens when....’; ‘This has happened probably because.....’.
