Dr. Joanna Waniek is a Heisenberg Fellow at IOW. Her studies focus on the interactions between physical and biological processes on different time and space scales. Her ongoing projects are regionally concentrated on the North Atlantic and its adjacent seas. In one of her DFG funded projects the main interest lies on the influence of Saharan dust on the biological productivity of the subtropical Northeast Atlantic
