Three and half days later...

Yesterday afternoon (17.04) we were finally allowed to embark on MERIAN, 3.5 days later than originally planned. This is not good at all, as it is less time left for our science during the cruise. This is not really an ideal starting position for us, somehow all of us will need to compensate the lost time, some of it could be done by increasing the ship speed, but by all means not all of it. Anyhow, to make sure we are loosing as little as possible additional time we were able to load our gear, unpack the container in the dock and prepare the labs for the cruise. And still I’m a bit worried. Let hope we have good weather conditions while on the cruise, calm sea, so our work is not disrupted.
